Browser Extension

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 26, 2026

The short version

The ATSHack browser extension reads the job description text from the job posting you are currently viewing, stores it temporarily in your browser, and pre-fills it into the ATSHack tailor form when you click "Tailor with ATSHack." That is it. No accounts. No tracking pixels. No selling data.

What the extension accesses

The extension is granted permission to run only on these specific sites:

It does not access any other site, your browser history, your bookmarks, your downloads, or your cookies.

What the extension stores

When you click "Tailor with ATSHack" on a job posting, the extension saves the job description text and job title into your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This storage is on your device only. It is never transmitted to ATSHack servers or anyone else's servers by the extension itself.

The saved job description is automatically discarded as soon as it is pre-filled into the ATSHack tailor form, or after 10 minutes if you never opened ATSHack, whichever comes first.

What the extension sends

Nothing, automatically. The extension does not phone home, does not log analytics, and does not connect to any backend on its own.

When you click the "Tailor with ATSHack" button on a job posting, the extension opens a new tab to atshack.com. Your browser sends a normal HTTP request to load that page. ATSHack's web app then receives the pre-filled job description text the same way it would if you had pasted it manually. From that point forward, the website's own privacy practices apply (see site privacy policy).

If you do not click the button, no data leaves your browser. Period.

What the extension does NOT do

Permissions, justified

Chrome Web Store requires us to declare permissions. Here is exactly why each one exists.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we make a substantive change, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's release notes on the Chrome Web Store.
